Payments
How guests pay or leave a card guarantee through a secure link, and what to check before charging at the desk.
- Connect Stripe to Collect Payments
Connect your hotel's Stripe account once, and Brixa can send guests a secure link to pay for a booking or to leave a card as a guarantee. The money goes straight to your Stripe account — Brixa never holds it.
- Collect Payments with Apaleo Pay
If your hotel uses Apaleo Pay, you can connect it to Brixa so guests pay or leave a card on a Brixa payment page. The money goes to your property's own Apaleo Pay account.
- Ask Guests to Pay or Leave a Card at Booking
Each cancellation policy has a setting called What the guest must do to book. It decides what a guest is told to do to secure the room and, once a payment gateway (Stripe or Apaleo Pay) is connected and selected under Payments, whether they receive a secure link to pay a deposit, pay in full or leave a card as a guarantee; with a PMS that holds rooms the room stays held in the meantime, while with Apaleo nothing is held until the payment or card comes through.
- What Guests Are Told About Your Cancellation Policy
Guests hear about your cancellation policy at three moments: when they compare options, when they are asked for a guarantee, and once the booking is confirmed. This article shows what they are told at each moment, using three typical policies, so you can check that what you enter in the policy form reads well to a guest.
- Check Stripe Before Charging at Check-in
With Stripe, payments and card guarantees collected through Brixa's links live in your hotel's Stripe account, not in your PMS, which may still show the balance as due. With Apaleo Pay, the payment or saved card is on the booking in Apaleo. Either way, check what was already collected before you charge a guest at check-in, for a no-show, or for a late cancellation.
