Understanding Permissions
Brixa distinguishes between administrators, who manage how the platform is set up, and staff members, who handle day-to-day guest work. Knowing which side of that line a task falls on tells you who to ask when you need something changed.
Two kinds of responsibility
Rather than memorizing a list of switches, it helps to think of permissions in Brixa as answering one question: does this task shape how the hotel operates in Brixa, or is it part of operating it day to day?
| Administrators typically manage | Staff members typically handle |
|---|---|
| Hotel setup: profile, rooms, products, policies | Guest conversations: reading and replying |
| Integrations and connected channels | Quotes: creating, reviewing, and sending |
| Team access: who can sign in and what they can do | Escalations: resolving cases Brixa hands off to humans |
The exact boundaries at your hotel may differ — your administrator decides how access is arranged for your team.
Why permissions exist
Permissions are not about trust; they are about safety and clarity. Configuration changes — such as editing hotel details or adjusting an integration — affect every conversation and quote Brixa produces, so they are limited to administrators. Daily operations are what most of the team needs, so staff accounts are focused there. This keeps the workspace simpler for everyone and reduces the chance of an accidental change with wide impact.
If you can't see or do something
If a page, hotel, or action you need is missing or unavailable, it usually means your account does not have that permission. This is normal and easy to resolve:
- Check that you are signed in with your own account and, if you work across properties, that the right hotel is selected.
- Ask your administrator to grant the access you need, explaining the task you are trying to complete.
- If your administrator believes the access should already be in place, they can contact Brixa support to investigate.
When changes take effect
After your administrator changes what your account can do, the change typically takes effect the next time you sign in. If you have just been granted access to something and cannot see it yet, sign out and sign back in. If it still does not appear, let your administrator know so they can follow up with Brixa support.
